Lobster Festival - Sept 16, 17, 18

Prepare yourself for the lobster invasion; next weekend lobsters are taking over the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro! Clear your calendar because for three days you can feast on the deliciousness that is lobster, listen to a great music from the huge band lineup, rub shoulders with pirates, check out the other entertainment and find that perfect souvenir or get your holiday shopping started at the vendor village!

Seafood not your thing? No worries - there are tons of other good eats! Ribs, tri-tip, chicken, Jamaican, Chinese, Thai and lots of other international foods and desserts are available! Check out all the dining options here.

Autumn is here!

We are already a few days into the fall/autumn season, so our local squirrels remind us. Aaron and I have about 6 resident squirrels that live right outside- in a huge 200+ year old oak tree. They have been very busy harvesting their acorns, and so have we!

Meet the beautiful Baby(Orange Tabby), and Luna(Brown Maine Coon), our two beautiful female long haired fox and owl looking cats.

We absolutely love them, and everyday we are grateful to have them flopping all over our jewelry projects and rolling in the way of our shipping station. We are also lucky to have them accompany Aaron and I when we are busy online working on the shop, by resting their faces on our wrists as we use the computer mouse.

Yes, they are good, soft, and fluffy. Enchanted Leaves wouldn't be the same without them.

Inspiration: Copper Moth Light

Katharina Mischer and Thomas Traxler, you are my new heroes.

To forever preserve an endangered nocturnal moth species, industrial artists Katrina Mischer and Thomas Traxler have built an artful wall lamp project with the hope that its glow highlights conservation and animal preservation.

The “Limited Moth” lamp is part of the Austrian artist’s “RealLimited” series of works, which explores the limitations of reality. The water jet-cut and hand-riveted copper moths crowd a lightbulb at the center of the lamp, each representing one of the estimated remaining Marumba quercus species of moths. Mischer and Traxler plan to make four to five lamps accounting for the 800-1,100 that remain living in the wild.

Unique LA is Awesome!

We had such a blast this year at the Unique LA show! So many wonderful fellow artists and designers, and lots and LOTS of amazing people there to support us all! The most heartwarming part had to be the fact that several people came up to me and told me that they know me/my work from online, or came back this year specifically to get more of my work!

Hopefully everyone is having a great holiday weekend. I know I have been so far! Here is a shot of my living room/current jewelry workstation. Oh how I love you netflix, providing me hours of audio entertainment!

(As always, accompanied by my wonderful cat Luna- see if you can spot her among the mess!)

I've also been busy antiquing some leaves, cameo settings, and brooch components. And if you notice, there is a a little preview of some new mushroom magnets I've been working on too!
